The herbal steam barrel is a symbol of the Carpathian spa: a mini steam room of cedar or oak in which healing herbal steam wraps the body while the head stays outside, in the cool mountain air. That is exactly why it feels comfortable even for those who find a classic sauna hard to take.
How it works
Steam with extracts of Carpathian herbs is fed inside the barrel. The body warms up gently and evenly, the pores open and the skin takes in the plant compounds — the effect is compared to a bath combined with a herbal inhalation. Because the head does not overheat, the heart and blood vessels are under far less strain than in a steam room.
