New Year in the Carpathians:
FAQ

What is the minimum stay over New Year?

Three nights. If your stay includes the night of 31 December, 1 or 2 January, you can book from three nights — for example 29.12–01.01, 30.12–02.01 or 31.12–03.01. From 3 January you can come for a single night.

Is the New Year banquet compulsory, and how much is it?

Yes. It is added automatically to every booking that includes the night of 31 December. Adults and guests aged 13+ — ₴6,500, children aged 4–12 — ₴4,000 (kids’ menu), under-3s — free, without a separate seat. It is a one-off charge, and discounts do not apply.

What is included in the room rate?

Breakfast, a parking space, the indoor saltwater pool and jacuzzi, the salt room, the gym, a gazebo with a barbecue and Wi-Fi. Paid separately: the New Year banquet, hot tubs, saunas, massage, the kids’ room with a nanny and tubing — see the price list.

How do I pay, and when is the balance due?

The prepayment is the full cost of the first night, within 7 days of the invoice. For New Year dates the balance is paid not on arrival but 21 days before New Year; reception will confirm the exact date.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes. A booking can be cancelled, or the prepayment refunded, free of charge only up to 30 days before arrival. Refunds are made minus 7%. If you cancel later than that, the amount paid can be used until the end of the current year.

What is there for children on New Year’s Eve?

A separate kids’ menu — canapés, Olivier salad, a chicken burger, nuggets, cheese balls, a festive pastry and non-alcoholic kids’ bubbly — and a kids’ room with fun activities while the adults are at the table. Under-3s celebrate for free. If a child sleeps on an extra bed, it is charged separately — the booking page shows the amount once you enter the child’s age.

Are the pool and hot tubs open on 31 December and 1 January?

The pool, jacuzzi and salt room are indoors and open all year round. Wood-fired hot tubs, saunas and massage are booked separately; for the holidays book in advance — slots are limited. Reception will confirm opening hours on the holidays themselves.

Can we rent a whole cottage for a group?

Yes. Ostriv sleeps up to 15 guests, Borzhava 2 up to 18 and Cherenyna up to 9; for large groups and corporate events there is a conference hall for 40–70 people. You can compare the houses in the cottages and rooms catalogue.

How do I get there in winter?

The resort is in the village of Nyzhnii Studenyi in Transcarpathia: about 1 h 40 min from Mukachevo, 2 h 10 min from Uzhhorod and 3 h 30 min from Lviv along the Kyiv–Chop highway via Volovets and Pylypets. In winter you need winter tyres and time to spare, so plan to arrive in daylight. The nearest railway station is Volovets, 26.5 km away. More about the road and New Year’s Eve — in our article on New Year in the Carpathians.

Will there be power if electricity is cut?

Yes. The resort has solar panels, batteries and generators: during power cuts the lights switch over instantly and the Wi-Fi keeps working — you’ll be able to video-call your family at midnight.
