Our story
It all began
with a lake found by chance.
In the early 1990s a young man came upon a mountain lake in a Carpathian forest by chance. The beauty of the place struck him so deeply that he made himself a promise: his home would stand here.
The place was hard to reach — instead of a road there were only the faint tracks of animals and hunters. Yet over fifteen years of stubborn work the dreamer laid a road, brought in electricity and built the first cottage on the shore. And when friends began arriving with friends of their own, it became clear: this place was not made for one person.

It was that promise, made over the water in the early 1990s, that started everything. The name Ozero Vita — "Lake of Life" — is no accident: the lake, the forest and the mountains make a world that gives guests a genuine surge of energy.
