Our own mountain lake is the heart of the resort and one of the best fishing spots in Transcarpathia. A mild climate and crystal-clear water have made it home to rainbow trout, carp and sturgeon. Landing a carp here counts as a real trophy: a fish with a "fighting" character and considerable weight makes the fishing harder — and all the more interesting.
Tackle on site, the catch for dinner
If you have arrived without gear or are only just discovering fishing, we will hand out everything you need right at the lake. Experienced anglers from the highland region will tell you how and when to fish for each species. And your catch becomes dinner: cook the fish yourself over the fire in a gazebo, or hand it to our chefs — a crisp crust, tender fillet and the aroma of smoke leave no one indifferent.
Tips for beginners: when the fish bite
In summer, lake fish are sensitive to the weather: wind, rain or sun changes their behaviour. Experienced anglers know that a few hours before the weather turns, fish get hungrier, so that is the best time to fish; even in light rain the bite can be excellent. Early morning and evening hours are traditionally the most generous.
Not only fishing
While some wait for a bite, others take a pedal boat on the pond by the waterfall, swim in the heated pools or warm up in the Carpathian hot tubs on the shore. Fishing on the lake is available all year round — read more about the seasons and the trophies in the article on fishing in the Carpathians, and the cost is in the price list.
