How much a Carpathian holiday costs in 2026: prices and budgets

How much a Carpathian holiday costs in 2026: prices and budgets

"And how much does all this cost?" is a question the travel business tends to answer evasively. So here are the specifics straight away: accommodation at Ozero Vita starts from ₴3,750 a night, a wood-fired hot tub for six is ₴3,000 an hour, a foot massage is ₴500, and rods on the lake are handed out free of charge. Below, everything shelf by shelf and three budgets with the arithmetic shown.

A caveat, without which any text about money spoils within six months: all the sums here are indicative and depend on the season and the dates. The winter holidays and August will not cost the same as November, so check current figures on the prices page.

What the budget is actually made of

It is convenient to sort the spending into five baskets — that way you can see where there is room to manoeuvre.

  • Accommodation. The largest and most predictable item: you know the amount before you leave home.
  • Food. Breakfast is included in the stay, so you only need to count lunch and dinner.
  • Wellness. Hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms and massages range from ₴200 to ₴4,800 per item.
  • Entertainment. Tubing, pedal boats, billiards and fishing come in small amounts, but there are many of them.
  • Travel. It is 26.5 km to Volovets station, 91 km to Khust and 130 km to Uzhhorod.

Accommodation: from ₴3,750 a night

The resort has eleven properties — three hotels and eight cottages. The most affordable is Ostriv Cottage at from ₴3,750 a night; the most expensive is Kotovo 3 at from ₴10,950.

PropertyCapacityPrice from, ₴/night
Ostrivup to 153,750
Cherenynaup to 93,750
Chalet Hotelup to 284,100
Borzhava 2up to 184,100
Ozero Vita Hotel with SPAup to 484,550
Borzhavaup to 84,700
Boutique Hotelup to 756,150
Khutir 1 / 2 / 3up to 4 each7,000
Kotovo 3up to 410,950

Groups more often take a whole cottage: Khutir — ₴7,000 a night, Borzhava — ₴9,500, Kotovo 3 — ₴10,950, Cherenyna — ₴12,050, Ostriv — ₴28,400. It looks steep until you divide it by the number of guests. All the properties are in the accommodation catalogue.

The nightly rate already includes things that are charged separately elsewhere: breakfast, the aqua zone with its 50-metre heated pool, the salt room, the infrared sauna, the gym (from 16 years old), a gazebo with a barbecue, the playground and parking. Guests are driven from the car park by electric vehicle at the hotel's expense.

For comparison: for those coming only for the day, weekend entry to the aqua zone costs ₴900 for an adult and ₴450 for a child aged 4–10 — ₴2,250 for a family of three. For guests staying over, the pool costs nothing.

Food: breakfast in the rate, the rest to appetite

Breakfast is included, so you need to budget for two meals a day. The restaurant with more than 80 dishes on the menu is open all year; in the warm season a pizzeria and a bar by the outdoor pool open too. The meat, fish, milk and cheese come from the resort's own farm; menus and prices are in the dining section.

The most predictable way to control food costs is to cook yourself. A gazebo with a barbecue is included in the rate, while the large gazebo for up to 10 people is booked separately: ₴4,000 a day, with every further guest adding ₴200. Firewood is ₴200, firelighters ₴100, a kolyba for a banquet ₴5,000.

Dinner from your own catch is a story of its own: trout ₴500/kg, sturgeon ₴700, carp ₴300. Herbal tea from Carpathian herbs is ₴100 for 7 g, an oxygen cocktail ₴100.

Wellness and spa: from ₴200 to ₴4,800

This part of the budget is easy to underestimate, and then it is exactly the part that leaves the brightest memories. The salt room and the infrared sauna are already in the price of the stay — you pay for hot tubs, steam rooms and massages.

Hot tubs and steam rooms are worth counting per group: the deluxe hot tub holds up to six people, so an hour at ₴3,000 works out at ₴500 each. The Roman steam room takes 4–6 guests, the hammam 2–3. The full list is in the wellness section.

Entertainment and fishing: small amounts that add up

The individual prices are modest, but over three days they mount up noticeably. All-season tubing: ₴150 per run, ₴500 for five, ₴800 for ten — the pass saves ₴700. A pedal boat is ₴150 for 15 minutes or ₴250 for half an hour.

Indoors: billiards ₴300 an hour, air hockey ₴150 for 15 minutes, PlayStation ₴200 for half an hour, arcade machines ₴50 per game.

The fairest model of all is fishing. Rods and everything else you need are provided free of charge, and the guest pays only for the weight of the fish caught and for cooking it: no bites, nothing to pay. The lake is stocked with trout, sturgeon and carp, and the catch is prepared in the restaurant kitchen.

How much it costs with children

Children under 3 stay free of charge. An extra bed for a child aged 4–6 costs ₴700 a night, and from 7 years it is ₴1,400. A week with a seven-year-old adds ₴9,800 to the budget.

The children's room with game simulators is free; a nanny costs ₴300 per child per day. The playground, the children's pool area and the mini farm are free as well. The gym is from 16 years old. More detail is on the holidays with children page.

How to save honestly

Not "cheaper" but smarter — without giving up what you came for.

  • Take a whole cottage for the group. Cherenyna in full costs ₴12,050 a night — split between nine that is less than ₴2,010 per person. Borzhava between eight is about ₴2,380, Ostriv between fifteen is ₴2,370.
  • Travel in the shoulder season. Late January, February outside the holidays, October and November give the same facilities at a lower price. The indoor pool, the hot tubs and the saunas work all year round.
  • Do not pay twice. The aqua zone, the salt room, the infrared sauna, the gym, parking and breakfast are already in the nightly rate.
  • Buy passes. Ten tubing runs cost ₴800 instead of ₴2,010.
  • A 20% discount for combat veterans (UBD) in the low season. It applies from 1 June to 1 September, and entry to the grounds is free. You can book for a single night — a hotel room or a whole cottage alike.
  • Plan your check-in and check-out. Check-in is from 14:00, check-out by 12:00; early check-in or late check-out costs 50% of a night, and sometimes another night is better value.

Three budgets where the arithmetic adds up

Specifics are more useful than a "from and to" range. Three typical trips built from the prices above: accommodation at the property's minimum rate, with lunches and dinners counted separately.

ScenarioCalculationTotalPer person per night
A couple, 2 nights, Chalet Hotel4,100 × 2 = 8,200 + hot tub 60 min 3,000 + massage 1,500 × 2 = 3,000₴14,200₴3,550
A family with an 8-year-old, 3 nights, hotel with SPA4,550 × 3 = 13,650 + child 1,400 × 3 = 4,200 + tubing 800 + pedal boat 250 + herbal steam barrel 1,000₴19,900≈ ₴2,211
A group of 9, 2 nights, all of Cherenyna12,050 × 2 = 24,100 + gazebo 4,000 + firewood 200 + hot tub 120 min 4,800 + sauna 1,500₴34,600≈ ₴1,922

Breakfast, the aqua zone, the salt room and parking are already included. And the main thing is plain to see: per person, a group in a cottage rests almost twice as cheaply as a couple in a hotel — with the same pool and the same lake.

And once more: these sums are a model, not an invoice. Prices change with the season and the dates, so check them on the prices page before booking, and check free dates in the booking section. If you are travelling as a family, it is worth adding the practical details from our piece on a Carpathian holiday with children to the budget, and planning the journey itself with the guide on how to get to Transcarpathia.
