Rest in Pylypka in the Carpathians

The village is located in the mountains, at an altitude of about 750 m above sea level. At any time of the year, the local nature surprises with its beauty. The Ploshanka River, Studeny and Pylypchyk streams flow here. Pylypets is a village with a long history. It was first mentioned in Hungarian written sources in 1463. Only in those ancient times was the village called Verpeliepets. The wooden building of the Church of the Nativity of the Holy Theotokos has been preserved on the territory of the village. It was built in the 13th century.

In the 1930s, local residents were offered a kind of exchange: to build a new temple out of stone in exchange for wood from the surrounding forests. However, the villagers made a wise decision to refuse such an offer.

A modern ski resort

Currently, the village of Pylypets has become a developed ski resort, with tracks of various levels of difficulty. The total length of mountain tracks is about 25 km. Here are just a few options for climbing:

Mysterious Shipit waterfall

On the edge of the village is one of the main attractions of the village - Shipit waterfall. It got its name from the sound of falling water, which is like a stealthy whisper. According to an old romantic legend, a young man and a girl in love once met near the mountain. But the girl's mother was against the couple's relationship, so they had to meet secretly. Once the mother witnessed their meeting. She was very angry; the woman caused a heavy downpour with curses. The lovers drowned in the streams of water falling from the sky, and a waterfall formed in their place. In its noisy waters, you can hear the whispers that lovers still use to speak to each other. The picturesque waterfall still attracts not only travelers, but also writers. For example, Shipit became one of the main motifs of the book "A Little Darkness" by the modern writer Lyubko Deresh.
